Britax Diplomat Convertible Car Seat Onyx Review
Doesn't matter if I like it...I'm not the one who'll be sitting in it.
But my 9 month old son LOVES this seat. Before it was infant seat which he hated. Diplomat, I don't get any complaints from him since we purchased it when he was 3 month old. and Amazon had some freak sale where i bought the Diplomat for 9 so no complaints from me either.
Couple thing that stands out over other carseats:
Shoulder harness knob that raise and lowers the shoulder harness with the side impact cushion. While my son's sitting in the seat (not strapped) I can turn the knob to adjust the harness without detaching pulling the string out and feeding it to the right slot and attaching again.
Since side impact cushion moves with the shoulder harness you can be sure that it is right by the baby's head unlike some other carseats with side impact which is stationary so if you're kid's younger or new born or short, the cushion may not be next to the baby's head.
It is compact lengthwise. I have this seat rearfacing behind the driver's seat in Toyota Rav4. I have more legroom with this car seat than when I had the infant carseat behind me (i'm 6'). I used this in my sister's corolla and was able to manage. It is supposed to be more compact than the compatitors (evenflo, alpha omega, other britax etc)

Specially designed for use in smaller vehicles, the Diplomat from Britax is a compact, convertible car seat that's comfortable for baby on long drives, easy for parents to work with and--most importantly!--safe. True Side Impact ProtectionTM and Versa-Tether for Peace of Mind
The Companion also gives you additional peace of mind by featuring engineered True Side Impact ProtectionTM. Deep side walls and head support provide advanced shock-absorption and cushioning in side impact collisions, helping to reduce the risk of injury. Additionally, EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) impact foam lining around the baby's head and torso absorbs energy in side and rear impacts, cradles baby's head to keep it away from protruding parts, cushions violent side to side movements, and creates a comfortable resting spot. Secondly, the rear- and forward-facing recline allows the patented Versa-Tether, an energy management top tether, to anchor the top of seat to the vehicle in the event of impact, thereby reducing movement. Specifically, the Versa-Tether fastens the top of the car seat to factory installed automobile anchor points, minimizing the possibility of a head injury. This system also allows for rear-facing tethering to help keep the seat consistently stable.

When it comes to safety, the Diplomat truly delivers. First, the patented floating HUGS (Harness Ultra Guard) system exceeds U.S. safety standards by reducing forward head movement as it gently cushions the neck and chest with soft padding--a feature that's particularly important both in the case of an accident and during nap time. In addition, this system better distributes the webbing loads, reducing head movement and minimizing harness irritation on baby's neck in case of an impact. HUGS also reduces the chance of improperly positioning the chest clip.
Lightweight at 15 pounds, and measuring 19 x 25 x 23.5 inches (WxHxD), the Britax is also certified for air travel. The Diplomat comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

Love it! Great for flying! - Amber25 -
We have previous purchased the Britax Boulevard and loved them, but they were to large for airplane travel. We purchased this one for our 21 lb 18 month old daughter and love it! It was easy to put in and out of the airplane seat and the rental car! We will travel with it again!!

If you are looking for an easy installing, comfortable, and most importantly super safe convertible car seat for your toddler look now further. If you can afford it BUY it. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. My 18 month old is so comfy in it. I love the easy height and seatbelt adjusting. I switch it from car to car all the time and it so easy to install. I always had problem with my infant carrier base. This carseat is worth every dollar.

We love the Britax Diplomat. We knew we wanted to buy a Britax but weren't sure which one. After researching all the Britax car seats over and over we decided on the Diplomat. It fits perfect in our Acura MDX and still allows room for my 6 year old and 8 year old. I love it so much I wondered if the marathon would work as well. I went down to a baby store and tested it out and found it was much to big, I could barely get it in my MDX.
More benefits are the side wings for saftey and sleeping comfort, safety ratings are outstanding and how comfortable it is. I also like how tall it is, it just allowing my baby to see out out the window better. I would definitely buy this car seat again.
